Roll Call: We All Shine On

  1. The power of selective information to influence a bias: a biblical view of marriage has wives submitting as the church to Christ, and husbands loving their wives as Christ does the church. Christ led a crappy life in abject poverty before being nailed to a plank of wood -- ergo, husbands should be willing to go through the worst life has to offer for the sake of their wives and families. Don't believe me? Ephesians 5:22-33; dust that book off. Hate to say this part doesn't get reported in the media.

Modern Christians trying to read a chauvinist worldview out of the Bible are making serious hermeneutical mistakes. Of course, I did a little searching, but I couldn't find the actual SBC ad and everything it said. Somebody prove to me the Baptists willingly left the "husbands love your wives" part out, and I'll reconsider my ideas on Huckabee, but as far as I can tell, any biblical ideas he puts forward that sound insane are getting spun. You have to respect the guy for standing up for what he believes in in the face of serious pressure -- isn't that what a free America's all about?

  3. "Ron Paul booed? Internetizens, activate!"

This is funny because it is true. No one would care if they didn't boo for a stupid reason. They don't want to trade or talk with Ceasar or Castro? Yet for some reason it is perfectly ok to do so with Iraq and China... Hypocritical?
