Mike Gravel is Now a Sexy Libertarian
It looks like the Democratic presidential candidate is going to be either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton...
...because Mike Gravel is out!
I know! And not only that, but he's jumping ship and attempting to run for the Libertarian party. Can you believe it? What a sad day for the Democratic Party...
"It is a party that combines a commitment to freedom and peace that can't be found in the two major parties that control the government and politics of America," Gravel said in a statement released late Tuesday by America's largest third party."My libertarian views, as well as my strong stance against war, the military industrial complex and American imperialism, seem not to be tolerated by Democratic Party elites who are out of touch with the average American."
Gravel then climbed inside the carcass of a grizzly bear he had recently slain and recommenced his ritualistic howling for a better America.

Mike Gravel is not a Libertarian. The Greens would be the party for the universal healthcare (payed for by a sales tax with "no cost" to you except the taxes you already payed), and carbon tax stances he has. He is a economic socialist who would use government to protect our rights, which by definition are privileges if the government can legislate regarding them.
He is the run of the mill modern liberal progressive. His NI4D creates a direct democracy based on centralized federal government. Our republic was established to protect against that very thing. His stances, though sincere are unsound. Such a love of the State is not only un-Libertarian but irresponsible while his complete condemnation of the corporate monopoly is exactly what he wants to create with government.
"Gravel then climbed inside the carcass of a grizzly bear he had recently slain and recommenced his ritualistic howling for a better America."
What the fuck does that mean? Since when has Mike ever done anything that even resembled what the crappy joke was supposed to mean? You think it is FUNNY (like Hillary) that we're going to start dropping nukes on Iran? You think it is funny that we're going to get, yet another, corporately owned candidate that will do NOTHING for our country except give us more debt and more war?
I am going to the Libertarian National Convention in a couple of weeks to voice my opinion and my support of the ONE PERSON I think will actually DO something for our country since he actually DID SOMETHING in Congress (unlike your pretty little frontrunners). So you know what? Fuck you and your corporate shithole. Fuck you and your lack of understanding of what real democracy is, and what this country can be.
People who don't respect Mike Gravel are ignorant.
It disgusts me to no end to see young people who owe their lives to Mike because he saved their ass from being drafted by Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush talk shit about the very man that saved their ass.
and to say that "corporate funding" is what makes a person a credible candidate for the presidency truly have their head screwed on backwards. The man with the least amount of corporate ties is the most trustworthy. PERIOD. Obama gets MILLION from NUCLEAR power Lobbyists! does that make him a better candidate for president? NO! It makes him a better candidate to run the Nuclear Industry. Clinton gets Millions from the Military industrial complex. does that mean she'll make a better president? NO! it means she could run the Military industrial complex. John McCain gets Millions from the defense contracting industry. Does that mean he'll make a good president? NO! it means he could be a good CEO for BOEING.
And most importantly YOU FORGOT TO PUT IN YOUR PIECE WHY Mike is running.
TO GIVE US THE RIGHT TO VOTE TO MAKE LAWS SO WE DON'T HAVE TO REMAIN THE SUBJECTS OF A CORPORATE OLIGARCHY!
wake the fuck up people.
With no publicity, no corporate backing, and now a libertarian; Mike Gravel has lost the race entirely. He still has my vote, even though I might be the only one who will vote for him.
Out of the choices we have picked for us, one interesting thing came up about Clinton, Obama, and McCain. As I have deduces, they are able and willing to segregate. The three of them do not support gay marriage. Quick quotes… Obama, “marriage is between a man and a woman.” Clinton when asked about same-sex marriage, “I am absolutely in favor of civil unions with full equality.” That is not an answer to the question. McCain, “the constitutional amendment (banning gay marriage) strikes me as antithetical.” Yet all of them want to say they believe in freedom of religious choice. Seem to be hypocritical to say one thing and do another. Next in line is something I found while watching debates a reading statement. The same selection listed above seems to have trouble answering questions about certain subjects. On Logo, The Visible Vote ‘08, Clinton answers a question about same-sex marriage with an answer about civil unions and never states her opinion about the marriage itself. Obama answers a question about Korea with stuff about Iraq. From my view point, if a potential leader of this country does not have the ability to answer questions with statement that do truly answer the original question, they do not belong in office. And there is more about these people that just does not make sense.
Is someone that does not belong in office better than someone who is trying to make a difference?
Now all we need is Kucinich and we will... still have no chance or press coverage! Enjoy your Democratic implosion and Republican warhawk maverick/conformist.
