FANTASTIC!!!
We all know about the Colbert Bump!
Woo-Hoo!
I have bitter-beer face about McBillary. And Michelle Obama would look much prettier in a dress (not ON a blue dress) than Bill Clinton!
She'd look prettier than Hillary in pants too.
i'm a 47yr old single republican mom desperate to vote democratic. i lost my home and yes i'm very bitter and especially sad for my son. there was a point when all i could hope for was a prayer.
since when is being on food stamps, going to harvard and returning to the poorest streets to help disenfranchised workers 'elitest'.
i was brought up to believe that's the 'american dream' or 'ideal'. i can only hope my son becomes such an elitest. i'd be so proud!
OBAMA 08
To those who are so upset about Wright's sermons, which in typical media fashion have been deceptively taken out of context (and take note... it could happen to YOU too!)
I say check it out. Go to a black church and talk to some black people. They are not all happy campers. Some are even (Gosh!) resentful about how they are treated by white America- -imagine that! Some even don't believe the government and what it tells you!
It's hard to imagine that everyone isn't all happy, safe and cozy in the America of our dreams...when you are, huh?
I look forward to seeing Michelle Obama tomorrow. It amazes me how the media and Hillary supporters are trying to make Obama an 'elitist' when he and his wife combined made just under $1 million last year while Billary made over $20million last year - really, who is the elitist?
And frankly, Obama is right. I'm one of those 'small town' people in PA and we are bitter - but that doesn't mean we've given up. I have no idea how Hillary has decided that 'Bitter' = 'Abandoned hope". Hmmm... seems to me someone else has spent the last 7 years changing the meaning of words as well and do we really want another 4 years of someone who was born into money, changes word meanings for their own benefit and says whatever it is they think the voters want them to say instead of speaking the truth?
How can we expect to get respect from the rest of the world when all we do is point out everyone else's problems yet ignore our own and pretend that this nation is one big, happy, safe family?
If you're not bitter after all that's happened under Dubya and the rest of the crooks and liars, you're not paying attention. Neither our democracy nor our society can withstand four or, god forbid, eight more years of McSame. Obama is our only hope to get our country back on the right path.
It's ironic that Hillary is getting taken to task for saying something that was wrong, while Obama seems to get in trouble whenever he speaks the truth. There is bitterness among people who have been "downsized" and/or can't get health care and/or can't find any way of sending their children to decent schools or on to college. The Republicans should know. They deliberately stoke the fire of that bitterness.
When people are worried or frightened or feel powerless, they cling to what's familiar, and are susceptible to "us against them" thinking, with the Repugs all too eager to define "them" as the political boogeyman of the moment. Keep 'em scared, keep 'em defensive, keep 'em voting for you out of fear. Obama appeals to "the better angels of our nature." Let's hope those angels can defeat the devils of fear and despair.
I still don't get how speaking the truth about how small town America feels is elitist... but thats the media for you.
So, is Stephen gonna have a "grit-off" with her instead of her husband? I've got twenty bucks riding on Colbert beating them both.
At the same time!
Thanks for having her on the show. She's an interesting woman.
And thanks for NOT putting her on the night before the PA primary. No doubt Clinton will be booking every late night comedy show she can on the 21st.
Maybe you can create a whole new media spin on the word "bitter." For myself, as a small town KS girl, I am VERY bitter after 8 years of Bush and contemplating a possible 8 years of another Clinton or more likely McCain.
B. Kristol over at the NYTimes opines that Obama's 'words' reflect Marxist ideology (religion/opiate/masses). Maybe Obama speaks to truthiness, but if there's any indication that he holds ideas foreign and or frightening to much of the country, he's doomed in November. IMO
I need some answers from this American hateing woman. when did her her husband and children become diss-associated with rev. wrigts curch? And is he responsible for hatred of America? Did they let their children be subjected to anti-Americanism? People say that you only hear snippets of the sermon. Does anyone really believe that this is the first time he ever spoke like this? Finallly what is her definition of a typical white woman?
