Confirmed: Hillary Clinton to Seek the Colbert Bump this Thursday

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

It turns out that Chris Matthews either has amazing precognitive abilities, or heretofore under-represented investigative journalistic prowess.

Regardless of the source of his information, it turns out that the Hardball host was correct: Hillary Clinton will be appearing on The Colbert Report this Thursday.

Her appearance follows last night's interview with Barack Obama's wife and aspiring first lady, Michelle Obama, and will cap off Stephen Colbert's  week long trip to Philadelphia.

So what do you think?  Will the Colbert bump be enough to rocket her to win the Democratic nomination?

  4. ok third try and final
WHAT IS IT WITH YOUR SECURITY CODES??? CONSTANTLY TELLING ME TO REENTER AND NOTHING ON THE SCREEN SO I HAVE TO WRITE IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

Very annoying. Rant over. Pls fix.

After the abysmal performance of the "newsmen" last night (only Mr. Republican David Brooks approved), maybe she'll actually get some real questions. But I doubt it. Judging by Michelle Obama's (is it Michelle or Michele?) appearance, no major satire will occur.

Sen. Clinton has said she enjoys all this mudslinging, I believe--although she claims it is just all the "fun part" of politics. Maybe she should try out for http://WWW. There's a question to ask. Sen. Clinton, as a lover of fun and mudslinging, have you ever considered trying out for WWW? What would be your moniker?

  6. experience? thats something that lincoln, kennedy, and teddy r didnt have and people respect all three as three of the most influential and greatest presidents. experience doesnt matter, just like it shows in sports and it does in politics.

  7. Wow - lots of Hillary haters posting comments here. Did y'all enjoy watching her hogtie Barack during the debate last night? Nice assist from Stephanopoulas there!

Whether you support Hillary or not, you're naive if you think Barack Obama is fit to be our president. He does not have the political experience to be the commander in chief. So keep spewing that Hillary hate, you're just shoving John McCain into the oval office.

  8. What's the point of Hillary still being in the race? Her fate is sealed due to her stupid gaffs and ignorance of decency. She's all about dirty politics, something we don't need any more of in the White House. She's proven herself to be completely untrustworthy, and the American people know it. So give it up, girl. Keep some semblance of your self-esteem. And get some professional help... you need it more than anyone.

There are people who have said that Obama and Clinton want the same things for this country. That is completely false. Obama is the one who wants to change Washington politics; Clinton just wants it to keep going on as a controlling, manipulative government, as long as she's the one in charge. Voting for Obama would be a step forward. A vote for Clinton would be a vote for McCain... and lord knows, we don't want that to happen.

  9. HRC's appearance is bound to be another humiliating moment for her, showing again her pathetic desperation. It think that Obama should definitely go on the show. From what I understand, Colbert is an Obama supporter. This may be true or not. But if it is, I'm certain that this will be a point of contention when HRC appears on The Colbert Report. This is clearly a last ditch effort on her part, but the voters have already decided, especially from that bullshit debate that took place last night. Desperation: it's not just a cologne.

Obama's got the nomination clinched, bar none. And thank God... with HRC saying "Screw 'em" to southern working class whites in 1995, her minority supporters will be non existent.

  10. The first thing I'd like to say is that if you don't watch the Colbert Report or the Daily show, you need to check it out. It's the lighter side of the news. Also Stephen and John have invited Senator Obama to the show. Obama is the one who refused.
As for the comment about Hillary dropping out of the race, well I don't understand why anyone would expect her to. If this was the Superbowl and your team was down by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter would you want them to simply give up. Or would you want them to pull out all the stops and do what needed to be done to win? There have been several cases where a big upset turned the game completely around. Hillary is in for the win. I have to respect the fact that even when the outlook is bleak, she pushes on instead of giving up. You never know what can happen in the future. She should stay in the race until the end.
