Barack Obama on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - How Did He Do?

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Barack Obama's last television appearance on the night before the Pennsylvania primary was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.   After a few rough weeks on the campaign trail including a vicious debate on ABC, will his appearance on The Daily Show be enough to push him over the edge in Pennsylvania?

Various polls say various things, running up to the primary, so the question is, will his appearance give him the advantage?   Was it enough that he put to rest the rumors regarding his white slave trade plans?

How do you think he did?

Also, yes, Primanti Brothers appears to still be open.

  1. Jon You sadden me, Get with the program and help people to laugh and think dont ram Obama down our throats when you dont even know what he will do to Our Country Come On snap out of it... Comedy is Comedy but you are cramming your views too much to the young voters and thats just as bad as Fox news ... Yuck what a comparison Jon

  2. May have helped, but nothings going to stop McCain from smearing the guy out of the presidency. He'll get ripped apart if they stick him out there against a battle hardened thirty year veteran of Washington hill. You don't try to put the F-ing new guy in charge just because times are hard, you put the most experienced person possible behind the wheel.

  3. Has anyone else noticed the similarity between Barak Obama's voice and that of The Rock? They are nearly identical! Wouldn't it be great if Obama introduced a new campaign slogan: Can you smell what Barak is cookin'!!! Then he could take out a folding chair and hit Hilary over the head with it...

  4. As is usual, Jon provided the irreverant give-and-take that fans have come to love. It was a pleasure to see Obama in this venue. By the way... if either candidate wanted to seal the southwestern Pennsylvania blue collar steel mill/coal miner vote, they should have had a photo op at Primanti's well before Jon mentioned it! This is where the real "common man" (and woman) is...having a capicola-n-cheese and talking about them Steelers!

  5. lol @ being surprised that Candidates appeared on WWE!

    ummm... this is the USA.

And the "I could drink a beer with that guy." vote has proved the swing vote in the last 2 elections. (Unless you're like me and believe that W stole those elections...)

I think it just goes to demonstrate the level of competition. I'd be more concerned if your candidate skipped an appearance at something like that. Leaving those voters to be courted by his/her opponents.

In a perfect world... heh... well that about sums that up, eh?

  8. All you need to know about this campaign and how low ALL the candidates will go is the following sentence:

All three candidates for the Presidency of the United States appeared on World Wrestling Entertainment's "Raw" program last evening.

Period. End of story. The office of the Presidency has been demeaned to the point where candidates are appealing to grown men and women who watch jacked up steroid people PRETEND TO FIGHT!

I would expect nothing more from Hillary and Obama. I mean, for f**k's sake, Hillary is doing shots to pretend to understand regular people and Obama has promised everyone in this country all but a new puppy upon his inauguration. But you'd think at least McCain, in an effort to court the right wing religious fanatics, would avoid stumping for votes right before the "Diva Match" where 8 silicon boobed ding-bats danced around in their g-strings (not that there's anything wrong with that.)

I don't know. Maybe its just me. But I don't need my PRESIDENT thinking that wrestling fans are the heart and soul of this country.

  9. Jon, your interview with Mr. Obama was not nearly as informational as Stevens interview with Mrs. Obama. He got her to say that Mr. Obama will be in the White House for 8 years. So much for our democratic process future!

  10. So things are even now. Everyone calm down and take stock of where we are in the campaign. One more month of this madness and for the most part things will be over. The one thing we can all agree on is just how awful the media coverage of this campaign has become. We have reached a point were the only way to gather the news is to watch BBC America or take some crank and plow through CSPAN. What Happen?
