Abercrombie & Fitch & Obama
Did you notice something weird about Barack Obama's concession speech last night? (I said weird, not interesting. There was nothing interesting about it.) At least a few of our readers and I did.
And so did Gawker...
This mystery is bugging me: Why were the three young guys behind Barack Obama during his concession speech tonight all wearing Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts? Maybe it's a plot by the Obama campaign to win back the gay community, which has something of a taste for the youth clothing retailer and, especially, its catalogs, but whose vote is basically owned by Hillary Clinton.
Abercrombie & Fitch is a gay brand? How come nobody told me? Maybe that's why I've been having so much gay sex with so many gay men recently.
And I don't even own any Abercrombie & Fitch clothes.
Weird.

Found it funny Getalife was correct. The two on the left are brother and they are not twins they are triplets :) One brother was missing!
The real story is that these three guys are so lame that they all buy horrible looking, brand-whoring, t-shirts and wear them AT THE SAME TIME, TOGETHER. How utterly lame. Is Indiana really this pathetic? Way to represent your state morons.
Everyone keeps saying "who cares", "this isn't news", "everyone who's 20ish in the midwest wears A&F". Well, Obama makes such a big deal about getting money from individuals and being so grassroots. Not just anybody gets to stand up there behind a candidate when they're speaking at a crucial time in the election... Seems to me like he's a mastermind at spinning things his way. And the media loves him. He's so young and charismatic. Almost like a cult leader... Just wait until he gets into office and can't run the country. Ever notice how he doesn't say how he plans to change things? He's a politician. He tells everyone what they want to hear. Remember the NAFTA thing? Remember his "spiritual advisor"? Remember the "bitter" people in western PA? Everyone gets a different Obama. Everyone gets the Obama he thinks they want. He's awfully good at that.
I'm from Evansville and am a college student down here and this whole thing is hilarious considering I was there and thought the same thing. In reality, though, everyone is making a big deal over nothing because Evansville, being a college town, has tons of early 20-somethings that wear the brand everyday. Just funny that everyone is making a big deal out of it.
A&F is not a gay brand, but it is very popular among the "discreet/masculine" gay guys. Even if it wasn't done on purpose, the placement of these three [gay] guys behind Obama got people talking. If not about Obama, about the clothing his supporters like to wear.

Okay....everyone is reading into this way too much. I've from Evansville, IN where this rally took place.....there is only one place to shop in the whole city and any male or high school college kid that thinks he's all that and tries to be cool only shops at A & F. There's no where else to shop except for ........A & E (American Eagle). So I'm actually ashamed that my hometown doesn't have more a fashion sense. When I saw this....I actually wasn't surprised!
everybody needs to leave my friends alone. These boys are my best friends, this isnt product placement and NO they wern't payed. Get a life and some hobbies if you have no other interests than to leave comments about people you don't even know. They support obama and thats what the focus should be, his speach and not them.
I don't know about you, but I found the entire thing hilarious. Barack totally got upstaged by those three. I tuned in to see how Barack would handle himself and was bored to tears until I started watching the A&F guys. Even they looked bored...lol
