John McCain on The Daily Show

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Don't forget to tune in to The Daily Show tonight to see John McCain's historic 13th appearance on the show.

Or do forget. What do I care? It's your business.

UPDATE: What I've learned from this interview so far -

  1. He's not sure what his Secret Service code name is, but thinks it's "Jerk."
  2. If he were to wear a propaganda t-shirt, it would have to be glow in the dark.
  3. John McCain has an excellent sense of comedic timing.
  4. McCain's out of context "100 years"quote was taken out of context.
  5. Politics is dissimilar to to bean bag.
  6. Dwight Schrute? WTF?

Many thanks to Sgt. Pepper Politics for live blogging McCain's appearance in the comments below. And many thanks to him for not linking to his own blog in every comment.

  1. I threw an extra word in there( ITS LATE), " ware and in." Remove the and.

  2. I felt like I was watching Fox News. Would it have been possible to softball McCain any more? McCain has said he'll continue Bush's policies on Judicial appointments, taxes, the Iraq surge and possible occupation, abortion... -- but Jon asks him about the Hamas endorsement of Obama? Sure he jokingly asked McCain to repudiate Bush but didn't press him at all. It was nauseating and disappointing from someone whose interviews I usually respect and enjoy.

  3. Hey styxandstones, were you watching the same show? Stewart was talking about a shirt McCain should ware and in response to the shirt a women was wearing that said something along the lines of, "I don't agree with you." Then McCain said, "Yah, maybe a glow in the dark shirt(referring to a joke made a few seconds earlier about being behind prior in the campaign)." Do you have some kind of retard democratic dyslexia where you hear things and your brain warps it into a slandering comment?

  4. Wait! What was McSame's womanizing comment about "glow in the dark t-shirts"? I cannot wait until we have a "proclaimed" Democratic candidate, because McLame is ripe for the pickings, no matter how you slice it.

  5. I like the concept of a McCain/Clinton ticket. I know it was a joke, but I would vote for it in a heartbeat. Four years of McCain, then 8 years of Clinton. Not such a bad far fetched idea!

  6. I liked McCain tonight. In fact, if Obama, and his sweetheart of a wife, get the nomination, I will indeed vote for McCain. In fact, I may even campaign for McCain. (This coming from a Calif. democrat living in the SF Bay Area. Weird stuff huh?) I am even scaring myself, what next? Will I start listening to Rush?

  7. All you democrats take words out of context. McCain was saying terrorist groups such as Hamas would rather have a weaker commander-in-chief. The spokesman for Hamas endorsed Obama because unlike McCain, Barak does not realize there are evil forces in the world that want nothing more, but to eliminate us and our way of life. Everyone needs to stop changing his words around. McCain has and will continue to run a clean campaign. He is very respectful and doesn't insult the other candidates even though he has an endless amount of material.

John Stewart hit McCain with every talking point, unlike Obama's appearance. McCain was great on the show. He has great viewpoints, he is genuine, realistic, and well spoken. Obama doesn't come off as genuine as McCain. Barak seems very arrogant.

  8. Actually, I like the ol' coot. Reminds me of Truman. Salty but savvy, strong and personable. Im an independent. So far haven't decided but leaning McCain. At least he's honest. The democrats are too crazy. Too bad the DNC rigged the election. Might have voted for Clinton.

Hate to disillusion you - but Hammas did endorse Obama.
http://www.newsmax.com Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas’ top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, delivered his endorsement in an interview with WorldNetDaily and WABC Radio in New York. “We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Yousuf said.
