John McCain on The Daily Show

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Don't forget to tune in to The Daily Show tonight to see John McCain's historic 13th appearance on the show.

Or do forget. What do I care? It's your business.

UPDATE: What I've learned from this interview so far -

  1. He's not sure what his Secret Service code name is, but thinks it's "Jerk."
  2. If he were to wear a propaganda t-shirt, it would have to be glow in the dark.
  3. John McCain has an excellent sense of comedic timing.
  4. McCain's out of context "100 years"quote was taken out of context.
  5. Politics is dissimilar to to bean bag.
  6. Dwight Schrute? WTF?

Many thanks to Sgt. Pepper Politics for live blogging McCain's appearance in the comments below. And many thanks to him for not linking to his own blog in every comment.

  1. Jon owned him!! Told him to sit down like three times. Mccain obeyed like a loyal soulja. Also, Jmac just looks lost, has trouble finding his words, and seems insincere with his pledge of "running a clean campaign."

  2. Since when has Hezbollah been for peace? If you are against Hezbollah you are more for peace than if you are for them. They have never been for peace nor will they. Jon is a liberal tool and in his defence (I guess) he was not "sucking up" to McCain that is completely ridiculious. He tried to trap him with many questions like Bush is good for terrorists and their recruitment.

  3. Jon is a total McCain suck-up. For weeks I've been waiting for him to be half as tough on McCain's activities and relationships as he has been on Obama and Clinton's...but no, he gives McCain a total pass. If he can't do better than that--and this softball interview--he should just go work for McCain's campaign and be done with it.

  4. He definitely convinced me to NOT vote for him. "I'm Hesbola's worst nightmare" means he's everyone's (with an agenda of peace) nightmare. Is he really implying we're going to drop more bombs? When does the violence end, and when do people realize we're more violent than the Middle Eastern countries? Yikes. :(

  5. so refreshing to see a candidate truly speak his own mind without empty slogans of 'change'. Dems are so weak they have to focus on Cindy McCain and call for her tax release ( she was wealthy before she married McCain and she's wealthy now. They both file separately and always have) - what we all should be seeing is that at least we see and hear what McCain truly thinks - he's not in this for the money (so he doesn't feel the need to be beholden to special interest groups like Obama or Clinton)and we don't have to agree with everything ( and think if there is truly anyone you do agree with everything - if you do , you are likely not human but a plant) - but at least you will know where he stands -

Obama, please - empty rhetoric which is based on a messanic oratory approach. And just look at who he keeps company with and who is funding him(trial lawyers, pharmaceuticals, etc.)....

Hillary - look no further than the rapid networth climbs of the Clinton's after the last presidency and the 'speaking' or 'consultancy' trips Bill takes with some of the less than reputable 'business' men in getting introductions to leaders of such human rights oriented countries like Kazakhstan, etc.....

  8. Am I the only one who has noticed ALL the CNN spots on the Daily Show lately? It is as though all other networks have ceased to exist. Aside from the fact that more and more of them are not funny, this is smelling like a some kind of cross marketing. The other morning CNN showed a clip of The Daily Show making fun of CNN. What's next? A clip on CNN of The Daily Show showing a clip from CNN showing The Daily Show making fun of CNN. Wow! I thought the ideas ran low during the writers' strike.

As for McCain, this is a life-time achievement award for the aging out of touch hawk. Let's have American notice him dottering around this summer and realize that most people would be nervous driving on the highway in a car near the grumpy old man.

And after 8 years of W, we need to undo most of his policies, not continue them.

  9. I was at the John McCain Show in the studio audience. And while he was friendly and affable, he's a scary dude. John's best line was when he asked him what he was going to do when he lost the election. Great show. I am glad I was there!

  10. I download the show, and Steven's every day. I was very disappointed in the McCain show. Pure softball just like the rest of the media. I am not sure why he gives a pass to that murderous bastard but I guess they a buds. That's enough I'll just download Steven from now on. I'm sure you care ....
