Ed Rendell Comes to Bury Hillary Clinton, Not to Praise Her

Amidst chatter that Hillary Clinton has authorized one of her supporters to lobby the Obama campaign to choose her as Obama's running mate...
...and that this plan has been in place for the past month...
...and that she's possibly keeping her campaign alive as a bargaining chip to this end...
...it seems that everybody and their governor has their own speculations about what the hell is going through Clinton's mind today.
And, speaking of governors, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell -- one of Clinton's strongest and most vocal supporters, one who repeatedly made the case for a joint ticket -- has some uncharacteristic words for his former liege...
"There's no bargaining. You don't bargain with the Presidential nominee. Even if you're Hillary Clinton and you have 18 million votes, you don't bargain."
In an exclusive interview with NY1 Political Anchor Dominic Carter, Rendell added that Obama would have to be an "enormously big person" to pick Clinton as his running mate and that Clinton sometimes "couldn't help but upstage" Obama on a joint ticket.
Well, that sure didn't take long. He must keep a spare long knife in his desk drawer ready for such occasions.
"You know, normally politicians don't want to be outshone. Well you know you've got Bill Clinton lurking in the background. But Hillary Clinton, a very charismatic figure for many Americans -- generally a lot of politicians don't like to put somebody like that on the ticket. You know rule one for the vice president is make sure you never upstage the president, right? It's rule one. You know, Hillary Clinton in some ways couldn't help but upstage, even if she was trying not to."
Yeah, Obama's gonna need somebody who's so uninteresting, so lifeless and unmemorable, that he or she would have no chance in the world of ever upstaging him.
Maybe someone like Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell?

Hilo08 is Hilstory.
Thanks Comedy Central Anonymous Blog dudettes/dudes. Also, shout out to daringintexas (hell you even commented on Pepper once, with your real name and stuff). It means a lot. Just got home from court and am wiped.
I looked in our paper this morning and saw Barak is eight points behind. Now that math matters (to the extent that it really doesn't because polls are extremely myopic now and off), but, if you folks want Florida, right or wrong, Obama better put that sweet crazy ass on the ticket.
This campaingn has fucked up my sleep cycle to no end. Nap time. And, sincerely, thanks for the Purple Majesty Award. Just as fun as an "NFG" from a jury. Not Fucking Guilty.
Peace,
Hilo08, I'm pushing hard for your girl. It's tough doing comedy about her now for me, (well not really, I'm pulling back on reigns and will hone in on Skeletor soon enough). You should be proud of her grit and yours. We need it for the Final Table.
Obama's The Walrus. Obama/Clinton 08
Get the broom. Unite. The code this time was AFUT. The game can only become afoot if the dems unite in mass. Poker. Chips. Logic. Irrationality....winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Dang it, Sgt.! I hate when you're being reasonable...and right.
I love Ed Rendell. I loved him when he was pulling for Hillary & I still love him as a potential VP !
Finally, some rational irrationality.
I can say one good thing about Hillary if she did get put on as VP for Obama. She'd start saying nice things about Obama for a change and use her tactics of passive aggressive crap on the Republicans, and Bill would be in the background as well.
I'm not sure that she should be the VP but if she was, I am not so against it. I just didn't trust the woman enough to be President because of her rotten tactics and think (and yes, I am a woman) that she was catered to a lot while she slammed others. She just doesn't seem to be a 'nice' person and there's a time to play hardball and a time to be benevolent and just. She instead seemed to have the hardball game going on, being fake and the only time she was sad is when it's about her family. I still think she ought to give that kid back his money or buy him a bike and some video games and a console because I would never have accepted that donation and done nothing in return.
