How Barbara Walters Saved America From Hillary Clinton's Thunder Thighs

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

Important update: Before getting all frothy around the mouth in your righteous indignation about the horrible misogyny of this post, please read this explanatory and apologetic one. After that, you may flame away at will. Thank you.

The vaginas over at Jezebel just posted this clip of Barbara Walters, who revealed on The View -- for the first time ever -- that she is sort of responsible for Hillary Clinton's pantsuits/legacy.

See, before this one time when Baba interviewed Hillary during a blizzard, the former first lady made brazen public appearances in dresses, exposing her ankles and calves and maybe even knees for an entire nation to gaze upon in shocked, disgusted horror.

It was all especially horrifying because, as Barbara helpfully points out, Hillary is... how shall we say... pear-shaped. Shaped like a pear. She's got some junk in the trunk. She's smaller on top, heavier on the bottom. She is a lard-ass.

So anyway, thanks to Barbara Walters we never have to worry about seeing Hillary's lower extremities ever again. Phew!

It just goes to prove that old saying: sisterhood is powerful.

  1. Some more things to ponder, and you hold on to your spite. John McCain has caved to the very people who sabotaged the FBI and comitted high treason by outing our very own CIA agent, just because it didn't fit with their agenda.

  2. Don't count ol' Energizer Bunny out yet, she'll be back. Like a sore tooth. Let's hope she follows through on health care. I just didn't think she'd bring that much of a drastic change to it, but we'll see if she can pull it off...something's got to give. I don't have health insurance, but I'm working on getting it for my kid. Thank God Los Angeles has medical resources for single moms, because if I was in Rove-Land, I'd be out in the cold.

I just like to ramble on the issues. I have so little time, that I like to get it all out - so exuse me if I use a thread about Hillary to talk about sexism. The assumption that "ergo" I'm talking about Hillary, is your assumption. I'm just blogging, man. Right? Ain't that what all the hullabaloo is about....the "buzz" the non bloggers think is happening? Aren't bloggers just message board people who got their own board? That's what I used to think, anyway, but I guess Arianna Huffington changed all that...

Anyway, power to the people. It's going to have to take an Obama presidency, to make it possible for women to shed the suffragette situation. Go Obama. Kick their ass. Keep bringing up the fact that Bush and Co. blundered on Bin Laden, and you are smart enough to listen to all those FBI and CIA experts that Bush sabotaged. Bring them all back and create a dream team - if only John O'Neill were alive to see that....

These are the people we're dealing with. Hillary supporters who are considering McCain better wise up, and not be so emotional about this national security issue. Our lives are all at stake, here - from the environment and weird weather, to blunders in the middle east, and who's going to mop up this mess and actually go after those who killed our people? Bush has had all this time - but apparently, Bin Laden is worth more as a bogeyman.

Anyway, I guess I've done my civic duty with enough muckraking for today. Good night and God Bless. And pray the people in the valley survive this record heat....109 in the shade....

  3. @caligrrrrl Hillary did what she could as well as she could. Now we need another woman to try, try, try again.

  4. @ Comedic Experiment As you might be aware I am not a girlie-girl. I prefer the company of men and would rather relate to them.

  5. although, I will add, that I gained new respect for her tenacity, when she was so strong in the face of criticism. But then, I just started getting a little annoyed at her for continuing on, even after Obama had it locked up. I do think her perseverance will serve her well when she runs for president again, or, any other public office. I believe a woman can and will be president someday, but we're gonna need change in this country, if that's gonna happen. I think Obama is a start.

  6. Fair enough, but I'm just telling it like it is, as I see it. Sexism is so insidious, that we can't even bring it up. Sure, the Hillary supporters are acting like sore losers and sour grapes and crying sexism, and yes, they're wrong - Hillary did lose on her own merits. I could even enter my own sexist joke and say girls just aren't good with math and she didn't manage her money well (see how easy it is?) I still firmly believe, to a degree, Hillary didn't have a chance in hell of truly winning, at this point in time in our country. Look at history. Black men got the right to vote before women. I think the right were goading her on, so they could knock her down in the fall, especially when those supposed supporters switched back to vote for McCain. Because of the misogyny that has demonized her since she was First Lady, she would have been more of a liability than a serious contender to topple the Bush throne.

  7. Sexism can happen. It is not the females problem. It is the man's issue. Don't cry or whine when a man does something to inflate his fragile ego. Accept the fact that they are being mean little boys as they kick sand in your face.

  8. Your post's subject was sexism and women being put down by it. Since Hillary was the only woman running, ergo she was the topic.

You totally use sexism as THE failure for any woman, when you stated, "I knew Hillary could not win, at this time."You go on to declare that patriarchal sabotage is the reason. That, caligrrrrl, is a panacea that a lot of women use to cover their shortcomings, and to excuse honest failure.

No, you didn't use those words. Your post said so, in so many words.

  9. I never said anywhere that Hillary deserved to be president because she's a woman! Hell, if that was the case, I'd have voted for her. I didn't vote for her mainly because she talks like a politician, and I don't see her as a big change from politics as usual. Her side stepping, smear tactics and ridiculous ploys like the gas tax holiday, not to mention that she obviously didn't realize the republicans were goading her on to create chaos, only hurt her, in my eyes.

My post, about sexism, is more about the systemic problem of sexism - on the right, on the left, even from women. I don't spell woman with a Y, I don't believe that it's wrong to wear high heels or lipstick, or to enjoy sex. I just don't think this country is even close to conquering sexism. In the end, although people would like to believe it's not the case, sexism is the silent killer. This post just shows how easy it is to ridicule women, whether it's a woman doing the ridiculing, or a man. I voted for Obama because he's cool, calm, collected, smart and acts like a leader. He's the only one talking about going into Pakistan, he's the only one who feels like real change. Good for Hillary that she has tenacity and guts. I was even gonna vote for her. But we need drastic change. We need someone who isn't afraid to speak the truth, and not just say the things we want to hear. I didn't see that in Hillary. I saw someone pandering to the right, trying to capitalize on this country's racism, and that had nothing to do with her sex, it was just politics as usual. And that's why she lost my vote.

  10. I think I was talking to Obama on IM. He said that he was a Nigerian Prince stuck in South Africa that needed me to send him money so he could get to America to pay me back.
