Celebrate Our Success in Iraq with a Corn Dog, Just Like John McCain

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

Yesterday, John McCain stood next to a river in Michigan, ate a corn dog with mustard and declared (around 1:20 in this video) that "we have succeeded" in Iraq. What a blissful afternoon!

It was only marred by the fact that Barack Obama, the big meanie, refused to join McCain at his town hall meeting for the American people...

...oh, and the fact that despite all our success in Iraq, private contractors keep electrocuting people over there.

  2. Obama isn't scared. McCain ought to be, sounding like Bush43, when the majority of Americans know they're being scammed.
McCain has yet to define his stances on issues-they're just outlines with no substance, designed to give the illusion he has definitive plans once he's in office.
Obama, on the other hand, defines every one of his stances on his official government website, something that McCain has yet to do.
And about those town-hall meetings McCain wants: did you know that he peppers them with his own staff members, posing as the general public?
Puhleeese, the man gets angry when he's asked pointed questions about his flip-flopping. He can't handle legitimate questions-what's to be expected when the press corps take him to task on his policies if he's elected? Answer: more angry outbursts, and official White House press releases that won't answer a damned thing.

  4. McCain defines success according to the New Republican Heritage Dictionary-
success(noun); 1. To present an obvious failed attempt as victory so many times that the speaker believes it to be success; 2. refusal to admit loss by calling it victory; 3. defeat.

  5. The gang sign that McCain flashed is not often seen and is rarely videotaped. It is anglo in origin and is used almost exclusively in the midwest and at elks lodges. Its meaning is roughly translated as "you is in white-town beeotch. don't be gettin all gay and muslim up in here".

at least thats what I heard.

  6. The war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan are taking heat these days, and withdrawal timetables puts more heat on Afghanistan than ever before. Check out the site 236.com for a comedic comparison between the two wars, if they had an instant message conversation. --- http://www.236.com/news/2008/07/17/if_they_imd_iraq_and_afghanist_7775.php

  9. Which particular regional leaders will tell me that we need to stay indefinitely in Iraq, or in the very least 100 years? I’m pretty sure its not Nouri al-Maliki, the Prime Minister of Iraq, seeing how he asked for a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops almost two weeks ago.

And of course Obama’s trip to Iraq, the trip that McCain demanded he make, is purely political. Whereas McCain’s trips to Iraq and Europe while the Democratic campaign for the nomination was still going on had nothing whatsoever to do with politics. Right?

And how can we have “succeeded in Iraq” when we are still “winning in Iraq”? “ed” implies that its over. “ing” implies that its in process.

And what’s with the gang sign he flashed at the end of the interview?
