Barack Obama has Won Voter Support with His Strategy for Crushing Defeat, Says John McCain

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

If you aren't a resident of Rochester, New Hampshire (pop. "almost 31,000"), you may have missed John McCain's recent town hall meeting there. No worries, he said a hilariously stupid thing in the midst of it, so you'll have plenty of chances to relive the experience via websites like this.

Take a look at the transcript of McCain's remarks in Rochester and the Q&A that followed. Can you spot the hilariously stupid thing he said?

Was it...

* "And by the way, my dear friends, the same strategy that has succeeded in Iraq will succeed in Afghanistan, as well"?

* "Poppy crop"?

* "I'd like to mention that in the audience is always -- is a wonderful organization of younger people and people who are more senior"?

* "I'm very concerned that just recently because the Czechs agreed with us on a missile defense system that they cut the gas supplies, the oil supplies to the Republic of Czechoslovakia -- excuse me, the Czech Republic. I used to call it and -- the Czech Republic, as you know, has been a very staunch ally and friend"?

* "I had the courage and the judgment to say that I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war. It seems to me that Senator Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign"?

Yeah, the last one.

Here is the video. You'll notice that McCain chuckles to himself at the end of that sentence, because he can't get over how foolish the American electorate has become. These people will vote for anyone who promises immediate annihilation of our own military.

  1. well, actually, from one perspective, he has a point. there are ppl who believe that Obama's withdrawal from Iraq will effectively be a loss for us as well as disaster for the Iraqi ppl, and that McCain's committment to stay and make sure things are done well even if it isn't popular enough to win him an election is the right thing. I disagree, but to me it doesn't sound "hilariously stupid," just an expression of an alternative point of view that one can argue with.
