Countdown to Electiony: 99 Days

That's right people! We are now in double single digits! In just 99 long, agonizing, grueling days, a small percentage of all American citizens will bitch and whine while waiting in line for their chance to act on the right that thousands of soldiers have died protecting: The right to vote against the candidate that some guy on the internet told you to vote against!
Therefore, I hereby decree that henceforth, each and every one of the 99 days betwixt now and Election Day, the Indecision 2008 blog shall commemorate the number of days left by writing something stupid and sophomoric.
And, speaking of the number 99*, did you know that it was the 99th U.S. Congress -- serving from January 3, 1985 to January 3, 1987, under the Reagan administration -- that enacted the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, which extended government restrictions on wire taps from telephone calls to include transmissions of electronic data by computer?
This is the very same act that was eventually eviscerated by the 107th U.S. Congress' USA PATRIOT Act, which was signed into law by George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. Kinda reminds you why Election Day is so exciting, doesn't it?
What number will come up next? Guess we'll just have to wait till tomorrow to see.
* 99 also happens to be the percentage of people reading this who don't get the obscure and not-very-funny reference in the post's title. I pity those people.

Hmmm.........
If 99 is a number in the single digits, does that make 9 a number in the zero digits???
I have no idea! Who?
Bonus Trivia Question: Who was the assistant District Attorney of Duchess County NY at the time of the bust referenced in "My Old School?"
a great album by a great band named after a steam powered dildo.
Quite unfortunately, I am one of the 99 percent.
