RNC Studs and Duds
Last week we brought you our wrap-up of Studs and Duds from the Democratic National Convention. And as Mitt Romney might contend, why grant privileges to terrorists if we aren't going to give them to our own true Patriots? Well, say no more, Governor! Here are your RNC Studs and Duds…
STUDS:
Sarah Palin: Unprepared? Hardly! Palin delivered the words of a George W. Bush speechwriter to perfection, and never once burst into tears -- even when mocking community organizers.
Joe Lieberman: The Connecticut "Democrat" boldly abandoned 90% of his principles to endorse McCain, which won him lots of new friends while doing away with that nasty committee chairmanship that's been weighing him down.
Fred Thompson: The failed "dumb as hell" presidential candidate redeemed himself by delivering a fiery recount of each individual wound sustained by John McCain as a North Vietnamese POW.
DUDS:
Rudy Giuliani: America's Mayor talked long enough to preempt a Sarah Palin video, and yet inexplicably made just one reference to 9/11. That's like Don McLean giving a concert and not playing "American Pie"!
Levi Johnston: Bristol Palin's Baby Daddy -- his MySpace photos plastered all over the internet -- was dragged onstage and paraded around like a pony. His life is over.
The Obnoxious Republican Delegates: McCain served in the Navy and was a POW. They, on the other hand, dressed in flag outfits and chanted "U-S-A!" and "Drill Baby Drill!"
John McCain: By failing to die onstage -- which would have boosted Sarah Palin to the top of the Republican ticket -- he disappointed the base.

I would say Palin was a dud. Honestly, you could pick someone off the street and they'd have read that speech off the teleprompter better than she did.
Sure, it might have been a good speech, but that credit goes to the speechwriter, not Palin. I go back to Jon Stewart here, she sounded like she was looking up conflicts off Wikipedia to use in her speech. Not to mention the unnatural pausing (well, unnatural for speaking, natural if you're READING).
And seriously, blaming the state of our country on SAN FRANCISCO???? Are you kidding me?
Sean Hannity always walks all over Alan Colmes. That's what Colmes is there for, that's why he was hired. Fox loved the fact that he's an idiot who will defend any Liberal or leftist point of view no matter how ridiculous it might be. William F. Buckley used to do this on his "Firing Line" talk show, book the weakest Liberal he could find (usually George McGovern) as a straw man whom he and his rightwing guests could then shoot down. I remember once Hannity asking Colmes, "Did you get picked on as a kid?" Colmes said, "I get picked on as an adult." "Yeah," Hannity said with a smug smile, "by me." And, as I said, that's what Colmes was hired for; it probably helped his job application that he even has a weak chin. But, of course, for Mr. Colmes the big bucks make up for it.
All I can say is thank God for the Daily Show. It's the only thing keeping me sane this week.
Stud: St. Paul. Dud: Minneapolis.
Not only is McCain a dud, he needs his staff to shop the internet to find him some "stock photos of black people" to add a lil' pepper to the bleached, botoxed salt that was the RNC.

Hairy: don't know about rioters (some of them were actually legitimate press...), but yeah, Code Pink is *always* a dud. But so's security for letting those nuts in.
McCain is too old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62dO_pIrWoU
Dud: Alan Colmes. Hannity walked all over him this week. (In other news, the earth orbited the sun.)
