Unresolved Minnesota Senate Race Proves Every Six Dozen Votes Count

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

If you're an Al Franken supporter in Minnesota and, on Election Day, you considered getting off your ass to vote 73 times but ultimately decided to stay home and do whatever it is Minnesota people do when they're not voting for novelty politicians, man oh man, are you gonna feel stupid after reading this...

The Minnesota Senate recount is getting incredibly tight. According to officials from the Al Franken campaign, the margin separating the Democratic challenger and Sen. Norm Coleman is now down to 73 votes out of approximately 2.9 million cast.

Several weeks into the recount, 88.6% of the ballots have been counted, a slight majority of which came from Coleman supporters. As noted by Franken campaign lawyer Marc Elias, in the counties whose ballots have been counted, Al Franken won 49.6% of the vote on Election Day. In the counties who have not finished counting, Al Franken won 52.8% of the vote on Election Day... Even with the narrowing margin, there may not be enough room for Franken to take a lead.

But, don't worry, Minnesotadelphians. Al Franken and his team aren't about to let this political circus come to an end just yet...

On a conference call with reporters, Elias said the campaign would now "pursue all other avenues open to us," in regards to making these absentee ballots public, "including legal action." He even noted (as has been recently reported) that the United States Senate could take up the issue, a development that the Coleman campaign has called "troubling."

Hopefully, this whole debacle will be resolved before Franken and Coleman head into their rematch election in 2014.

LAST COMMENT:

I dont understand how any sane person would vote for Al Franken but this is the same state that gave us Jesse " The Body Ventura. Come on now, you people are smarter than that ! Look, I live in southern California, where maggots like this fool are crawling out of the woodwork. Just look what "Auhnold" has done here. You folks are too smart to elect this piece of s##t. Do the right thing.

George Bush Regrets Some Regretful Things That Are Regrettable

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Are you ready for this bombshell? President Bush has recently informed the American people that he was apparently something slightly less than a flawless president.

I know! I'm as shocked as you!

"I think I was unprepared for war," Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an interview airing today on "World News."

"In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack,'" he said. "In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents -- one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen."

The "unexpected" is always such a bitch like that.

I mean, how the hell was Bush supposed to be able to predict that he'd drag us into a fabricated, unlawful war of his own creation based upon trumped up evidence.

Seriously. He had absolutely no way of predicting that Congress would actually let him get away with that so easily.
