A Brief History of the Batman Bump

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Right now, right this very minute, many of you are thinking about whether you should bother to get turned away from all the sold-out theaters showing The Dark Knight over the next few days. But you might not be thinking about how many presidential campaigns have relied on the Caped Crusader and his imagery to reach voters in the form of campaign posters.

Most notably, there's John McCain's latest campaign poster:

But we all remember this bloat-fest from the 90s:

And these days, this charming relic can only be found in musty attics next to Whipped Cream and Other Delights by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass:

LAST COMMENT:

That flick kicked so much ass it's blasphemy to stick that prick's mug up there as The Joker.

Bill Clinton Allegedly Invites Barack Obama to "Kiss My Ass," and Not in the Good Way

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

While Hillary Clinton -- who seems to have accepted her disheartening loss to Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination -- has this weekend begun campaigning to help the Democratic Party heal itself and unite behind its candidate, according to the U.K.'s newspaper The Telegraph, her husband Bill is having bit more rough a time dealing with the loss.

Maybe he's upset that Obama could be stealing his "first black president" title from him.

An unnamed "senior Democrat who worked for Mr. Clinton" and who apparently has no issues airing our country's dirty laundry with a foreign newspaper was quoted as saying...

"He's saying he's not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.

"You can't talk like that about Obama -- he's the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around."

Yes, it's completely improper for a former president to speak that way to friends in private conversation when referring to the Democratic nominee.

Why, it's almost as bad as a former president's confidant anonymously repeating to a newspaper hearsay about what that former president maybe might have said about the Democratic nominee and then, in the next breath, referring to that nominee (who happens to be black) as a "house boy."

It's a good thing Bill Clinton keeps aides of such impeccable wisdom and taste in close company.
