Tony Snow, Former White House Press Secretary, Dies of Cancer

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

Tony Snow -- former Fox News host and possibly the only competent Press Secretary (or staff member, for that matter) of the Bush Administration -- died of colon cancer early this morning at the age of 53...

"America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character," President Bush said in a statement from Camp David, where he was spending the weekend. "It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day. He brought wit, grace, and a great love of country to his work"...

Snow, who served as the first host of the television news program "Fox News Sunday" from 1996 to 2003, would later say that in the Bush administration he was enjoying "the most exciting, intellectually aerobic job I'm ever going to have."

Yeah, I can imagine how that job would be quite a mental workout.

We're sorry to see Tony Snow leave us like this (it's bad enough he left us with Dana Perino), and our hearts go out to his family for their loss.

Here's Snow, back in October 2007, sitting down with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show...

Part 2 is after the jump.

Snow was one of the good guys. Even when he was working for an organization I dislike (Fox) and an administration I dislike (Bush) I enjoyed his work, his candor, and the twinkle in his eye. And we are the same age. I'll miss him.

Jesse Jackson on Barack Obama: "I Wanna Cut His Nuts Off"

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

Thanks to Bill O'Reilly and the fine people over at Fox News, we no longer need to speculate on the horrible, unthinkable statements that Jesse Jackson made about Barack Obama.

Unfortunately, while genuinely, all around not cool, they're not nearly as bad as I -- as a blog-writing person with a lower than average sense of personal morality -- was hoping they'd be. Oh, well...
