Norm Coleman Sues Al Franken for Damages Caused by Winning

ZOMG! This lawsuit in Minnesota hit me completely unawares!

Republican Norm Coleman said Tuesday he is suing to challenge Democrat Al Franken's apparent recount victory in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race, delaying a resolution of the contest for weeks or months...

Coleman shrugged off the idea that he might concede the election to avoid a protracted fight that could leave Minnesota with only a single senator in Washington for months.

"Something greater than expediency is at stake here," Coleman said. He added: "Democracy is not a machine. Sometimes it's messy and inconvenient, and reaching the best conclusion is never quick because speed is not the first objective, fairness is."

Really! What kind of American would possibly suggest for a moment that a candidate should do anything less than go to every conceivable end to try to tear away a victory vote by excruciating vote? That sounds like communism or atheism or something else equally bad to me...

Coleman urged Franken to waive his right to a recount, saying that the prospect of changing the result was remote and that a recount would be costly to taxpayers (about $86,000).

"I just think the need for the healing process is so important... hopefully, you don't have TV ads during an election recount," Coleman said.

To be fair, that quote was taken from the day after the election, when "the healing process" was way more "important" than it is today, when the 111th Congress is entering its first session.

Now, what the country needs is the putrification process.
