First Reviews for Oliver Stone's "W." are Still Better Than Reviews for W.

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

The first reviews for Oliver Stone's W. -- his biopic of George W. Bush -- are in. And it turns out it's an Oliver Stone film...

Oliver Stone's unusual and inescapably interesting "W." feels like a rough draft of a film it might behoove him to remake in 10 or 15 years...

As the film continues to bounce back and forth, between the Iraq-dominated presidency and George W.'s unlikely transformation from ne'er-do-well rich kid to born-again Christianity, sobriety, ambition and resolve, it occasionally delivers intimations of looming tragedy, or at least of history that didn't have to unfold as it did.

But the film is unable to achieve any aims higher than as a sort of engaging pop-history pageant and amateur, if not inapt, psychological evaluation, due to the unavoidable lack of perspective and a final act that has yet to be written.

I wouldn't care if Variety said it was the worst piece of garbage ever -- or worse, as bad as Nixon -- I'm gonna watch the shit out of this movie. No doubt about it.

I always think of Oliver Stone as the most brilliant Neanderthal ever to paint a movie on a cave wall. He has an incredibly myopic and simple view of the world, but he's usually amazingly entertaining in explaining it.

At least someone had the guts to make a film like this on a large scale and dare to question our President - isn't that what democracy is about? Freedom of speech?! www.funwithwarcrimes.com - if you want to see Bush really get what he deserves.

Movie Trailer For Oliver Stone's W.

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

If Oliver's Stone's new bio-pic of the president's life, W., is one-tenth as scary and disturbing as the real thing, this looks like it could be the horror movie of the fall...

Lion's Gate and Oliver Stone proclaim they are making history with their movie "W" as it is the first movie made about a president still in office. This is a lie and they know it as Pink and Blue Film's " W The Movie" began shooting in 2005 and finished earlier this year. Pink and Blue Film's first trailer went up in 2006, our website in 2005 and second trailer in 2007. When we contacted Lion's Gate, they refused to return our calls or inquiries but eventually changed their title to "W. the Movie" then to "W The Film". Of course damage has been done to a project we, a small independent outfit, have sunkmoney and time into for 3 years! Oliver Stone's "W The Movie" is NOT the first! Pink and Blue Film's outrageous and very different indie film is facing an uphill battle due to the deep pocketed Lion's Gate/Oliver Stone Film Film! 2 years BEFORE Oliver Stone and Lion's Gate tackled W,Pink and Blue Films, was already tackling the subject and we did copyright the name of our film as "W the Movie". Sneak preview Pink and Blue Film's "W the Movie" Thursday, Oct 16, 7pm Indianapolis! at the Earth House Cafe, 237 N. East St. If you think St
