Geez, for a guy who pretty much won in 2004 by rallying homophobia in America, Bush seems pretty chummy with openly gay representative Barney Frank.
Really chummy.
So, who's this lady giving a soft-spoken response to President Bush's State of the Snoozion? She's Kathleen Sebelius, the Democratic governor of red-state Kansas.
After '04, she was mentioned as a possible candidate for the Democratic nomination in '08 and has since been discussed as one of the top contenders for the Dem veep slot. She'll be endorsing Barack Obama tomorrow. Most importantly though, she kind of looks like the mom from Growing Pains.

In years past, Bush's SOTU addresses have always been marked by weird pie-in-the-sky goals and/or out-of-left-field issues. But this year, we got nothing. No manned missions to the Sun. No admonishing of steroid-abusing snowboarders. Nothing.
Bush talked of a ban on cloning, but I'm not sure tonight's speech wasn't delivered by a predictable, less crazy clone of Mr. 30-Percent.
