Fives of People Turn Out to Protest Obama's Eligibility

A group of concerned citizens met on the steps of the Supreme Court today looking to overturn last month's landslide victory by Barack Obama on the grounds that the President-Elect is not a fully naturalized American because his father was a British citizen. Talk about constitutional purists!

Today at 8 a.m., they came. "If I'm going to be honest with you," said [demonstration organizer Roger] Bredow, sporting a floppy American flag hat that he'd promised on YouTube he'd be wearing, "I thought I might be the only person here." He had flown in from Georgia. The other fifteen to twenty people who cycled in and out of the small protest had traveled shorter distances—southern Pennsylvania, northern Virginia—but they felt they had to do something.

Fifteen to twenty! Now that's power in numbers. Do you know how many other esteemed groups have fifteen to twenty members? I'll tell you:

* Pitchers who have thrown perfect games

* NASA astronauts with surnames starting with "W"

* Winners of Best Villain at the MTV Movie Awards

* Women who sang on "We Are the World" if you count Huey Lewis, Ray Charles and Hall & Oates

* People elected President of the US who were either bald, bearded or black

Man, did I get into a firefight with them. It's still going but I gave up. Apparently the right-wingers aren't satisfied with Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, and Alito. Unreal. Salon's article is great if y'all haven't read it. Tried to get us some cross-town traffic. I hope someone writes a great article to incite the Birthers.     Barack Obama Not Gonna Be President After All... Oh, Well

    Bummer. Looks like we might have accidentally elected a foreigner as president.

    I hate it when that happens...

    The Supreme Court plans to decide Friday whether to hear a case that could determine whether President-elect Barack Obama ever becomes the nation's full-fledged president.

    The Supreme Court judges' conference today will consider the lawsuit filed by New Jersey attorney Leo Donofrio. He contends Mr. Obama is not a "natural born citizen," as the U.S. Constitution requires.

    Mr. Donofrio concedes Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii. He argues, however, that Mr. Obama was a British citizen due to his father's British citizenship.

    Clearly, the Supreme Court is going to overturn the results of the two-year presidential election we all endured over an issue that -- even at it's most compelling -- is little more than a semantic technicality.

    I guess we'll just go and start over from the beginning. Or, maybe the Supreme Court can save us all the trouble by installing a new president for the second time in a row. That'd go over well.

    Good work that Donofrio guy is doing.
