Plunging Deep into the Legend of Joe the Plumber
Last night America's favorite pipe expert became an official political flashpoint, right up there with LBJ's daisy-picking child and Checkers the spaniel. So let's take a look back at the man the candidates call Joe the Plumber, probably because they're afraid of mispronouncing his actual last name (Wurzelbacher).
Mr. The Plumber first entered our collective consciousness when he met Barack Obama during a campaign stop in Ohio.
The exchange was quickly picked up by Fox News, which got Joe on the phone for an interview during Neil Cavuto's show. After giving it some thought, Joe has concluded that Barack Obama is a Socialist Robin Hood who elitistly categorizes hardworking plumbers as "peasants."
Joe went on to have a "candid conversation" with Family Security Matters, the conservative group that made security moms the Joe the Plumbers of 2004. Joe candidly revealed that he tricked Barack Obama into admitting he doesn't believe in the American Dream...
PM: Do you think your question surprised Obama, caught him off guard at all?
JW: Well that was actually my intent. Most people, you ask them "do you believe in the American Dream?" Nine times out of ten they'll sit there and go, "Yeah, of course!" That's where he messed up, because as soon as I asked him that, his answer shows that he doesn't believe in the American Dream.
And, of course, Joe weighed in on the debate last night, telling Kate Couric that Barack Obama is just like that other skinny black guy. What's his name? Sammy Davis, Jr.
So, to recap: Barack Obama is a tap-dancing Socialist Robin Hood who only believes in Dreams that are Un-American (probably Muslim!).
And this time next year, we'll be calling Joe the Plumber Joe the Fox News commentator.

OMG what a surprise when we all discover that JTP is just the latest farce in McClown's ridiculous failing campaign to fool America into trusting him. The list of transparent ruses he has used is incredible, but I am encouraged by the voting public's ability to see through them up until now. At least GWB was good for something; he taught us not to believe anything a GOP mouth utters.
I may be wrong about this, but if a plumber has a lien against him it very likely a mechanic's lien, not a tax lien. Mechanic's liens happen all the time over disputes about completion of services, and very often they are no big deal. He may also have a legitimate tax dispute. I don't know, and I don't care.
OTOH, I don't want to be a SJ Wurzelbacher apologist. They guy has sought the limelight and anyone who does that in the Great American Freak Show is putting themselves up for a thorough going over.

By the way...just a side note on the Hockey mom's wicked cool idea to sell that “useless” plane on eBay eh?...Last time I looked on a map, Alaska looked like a pretty big state...I guess if I was going to actually visit the places in Alaska where I was hot on drilling (her running mate Big John seems to think this is muy importante - that’s "very important" in Mexican for all you Redne..Repub…out…there). I personally would take that trip by some other mode of transportation then snowmobile...just a thought...Selling the plane on eBay only proves to this voter that she can swing an axe blindfolded...apparently a trait that John-Paul Bunyan found indispensable when looking for a ruining mate.

Money has been, and will continue to be, taxed from you whether you like it or not. The question is where do you want it to go from there? Don’t care? Great…those same folks who were positioned well enough to funnel your tax dollars into their silk lined, double-stitched petticoats will gladly continue touting the benefits of trickle-down economics. I would rather save for education. I would suggest doing the same.

Last time I checked, the relative health of the middle class was a semi-important economic issue. I have to assume that this is the topic from the obscure “Class Warfare” reference. You know (...maybe not) that having a strong middle class is important for the stability of a society right (…probably not)? Fall of the Roman Empire ring any bells (definitely not…)? What actually would you suppose would happen if we allow there to be an extreme disparity between social classes (…not a clue)?

NO ONE, rich or poor deserves to have their taxes raised and that's exactly he's going to do.
Let me do the math for you Donkey Kong Jr.…
1.) Assume the average salary in the country is $50K.
2.) 25% of $50K = $12.5K…after taxes…$37.5K take-home for the average JOE.
3.) 40% of $200K = $80K…after taxes…$120K take-home for the other 10%. Minimum. This is what Joe Plumber wants.
4.) The average “JOE”, in this comparison, is still making, after taxes, only 1/3 of what Joe Plumber is making.
5.) The cost of goods and services is the same.
I don’t know about you…but I find it hard, by any stretch of the imagination, to justify how a person earning $200K or more a year…actually “deserves” the opportunity to take home a boatload more cash than the rest of us working stiffs. It’s as if we somehow are justifying it in our minds that 1 Joe Plumber is worth 3 times as hard as the rest of us…The same logic would mean that a CEO earning $3 million would be worth 60 average JOE’s?
I have sat across the table from rich people with diamond rings the size of table spoons and heard the secrets to their success…I’ve also heard the story of many who have tried hard and failed…What sets them apart? Mostly luck.
Don’t think of it as taxes on the fantastically wealthy…think of it as a tax on the lucky. Yeah, they may not deserve it…but believe me…if you ever receive a raise or bonus from Joe Plumber, it won’t be exactly proportional to the amount of profit your hard work made him.
I suspect that you’re probably content with playing the lottery…which is a tax on people who are not good with numbers.
RAISE your taxes, and cost jobs like Joe the Plumber.
